What is Impact factor : Impact factor (IF) of the journal is commonly used to evaluate the relative importance of a journal within its field. Journals with higher IFs are believed to be more important than those with lower ones.  Importance of Impact Factor: The importance of journal impact factor is highlighted by AICTE in its sixth pay GR (published in 2010) and also in seventh pay GR (published in 2019), stating that “Equivalence for PhD is based on publication of 5 International Journal papers, each Journal having a cumulative impact index of not less than 2.0, with incumbent as the main author and all 5 publications being in the authors’ area of specialization”. What is Citation : A citation in a research paper is a reference to a source that has been used in the paper. It helps the readers to identify the Original source of information that is referred to in a work. A citation provides information about the source to help the reader locate the original material and to give credit to the author or creator of the source. What it includes:  Citations typically include the author's name, the title of the source, the date of publication specially year, and other identifying information such as the name of the publisher, volume and issue numbers, and page numbers.  Example :   N.
