IEEE SoutheastCon 2026 invites the submission of technical papers, tutorials, and workshop proposals. Submissions are welcome in both theoretical and applied domains. The conference will feature peer-reviewed paper presentations, poster sessions, tutorials, and workshops.

Technical Paper Submission Instructions:  IEEE SoutheastCon 2026 accepts both regular and short paper (poster) submissions:

  • Regular Papers: Up to 6 pages (double-column IEEE format). These papers will be included in the conference proceedings and presented orally in technical sessions. Regular paper exceeding the six page, may purchase for a fee of $50.00 per page up to two additional pages. The maximum regular paper length is eight pages.
  • Short Papers: Up to 2 pages (extended abstract format). These will be included in the proceedings and presented as posters during the conference. Short papers exceeding two pages, may purchase for  a fee of $50.00 per page up to one additional page. The maximum short paper length is three pages.

All submissions must be original, unpublished work and must not be under review elsewhere. Manuscripts must adhere to the IEEE Manuscript Templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX, available at: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html

The conference will adopt a double blind review system. Therefore, submitted manuscripts must not include author names or affiliations. This information will be added only to the final, camera-ready version after the review process is complete.

Submission and Review Timeline

  • Submission opens: November 17, 2025
  • Paper submission deadline: January 6, 2026 (23:59 U.S. Central Time)
  • Review notification: January 28, 2026
  • Final paper and copyright form due: February 10, 2026
  • Author conference registration deadline: February 11, 2026 (at least one author must register)

Conference Proceedings:  All papers accepted for IEEE SoutheastCon 2026 will be electronically published in the Proceedings of IEEE Southeast Conference 2026.  At least one author must register for the conference, paying the full registration fee, in order to have their paper included in the Proceedings. Regular paper (2 column format) maximum page count is 6 pages with a $50.00 per page charge for papers over 6 pages up to a maximum of 8 pages.  Short papers (2 column format) maximum page count is 2 pages with a $50.00 per page charge for short papers over 2 pages.  Papers exceeding the maximum page limit (8 pages for regular papers and 3 pages for short papers) will not be accepted. Submissions must be uploaded in PDF format via the Paper Submission and Review System linked on the conference website. All PDFs must be validated using IEEE PDF eXpress to ensure proper formatting.

Tutorials and Workshops: Proposals are also invited for tutorials and workshops to be presented at the SoutheastCon 2026. The proposal should include the tutorial or workshop objectives, a brief description (500 words), an outline, proposed length (one-hour, two-hour, or four-hour) and, a short professional resume of the instructor. Please send proposals for tutorials and workshops to Tutorials and Workshop Chair Dr. Ravi Gollapalli (rgollapalli@una.edu) by January 6, 2026.  Tutorial and workshop presentation materials, in .pdf format, and handouts, in .pdf format, are due by February 10, 2026.

Plagiarism and Double Submission: Papers are reviewed on the assumption that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (multiple submissions). These matters are taken very seriously and the IEEE will take action against any author who has engaged in either practice.  See the following IEEE Web Pages on Intellectual Property Rights, Plagiarism and Multiple Submissions for further guidance:

Copyright Information:  Submission of a paper, an abstract or other material to the IEEE SoutheastCon 2026 represents the author's agreement to allow IEEE to publish the paper, abstract or other materials in any written or electronic format for distribution to all interested parties in perpetuity with or without compensation to IEEE and without compensation to the author. The parties understand that the author is granting a nonexclusive license and all copyrights remain the property of the author. A copyright form must be signed by the author for each accepted paper to be published in the conference proceedings.

Publication of Conference Papers in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library: IEEE policy on publication of papers accepted for IEEE conferences states that "IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore), if the paper is not presented at the conference." IEEE Xplore is the association's digital library of over 4.5 million full-text documents. IEEE journals and conference proceedings are among the world's most highly cited technical publications.

For general inquiries regarding the technical program, please contact the Technical Program Co-Chairs: Dr. Aleksandar Milenkovic (milenka@uah.edu) and Dr. Ahmed Elsayed (ahmed.t.elsayed@boeing.com).
